Serving the community since 1979.
GRO was founded in 1979, and we were voted the Best Block Club by a Chicago Reader poll in 2021 and 2022!
GRO is bound by its bylaws which are available to the public and can be downloaded below. GRO is a nonprofit 501c organization incorporated with the state under the “General Not For Profit Corporation Act.”
GRO has had many changing of the guards since its inception but the values remain the same. We strive to build a safe, friendly, and beautiful neighborhood in which everyone can grow and thrive.
GRO’s Neighborhood Boundaries
The boundaries of GRO have changed for the SECOND time in 30 years!
In February 2024, the Ravenswood Gardens Homeowner’s Association board unanimously voted to request to officially become part of the Greater Rockwell Organization boundaries. In April 2024, GRO voted to approve their inclusion. Welcome, neighbors!
Neighbors who live outside these borders who enjoy being part of our community are considered “Friends of GRO.” All are welcome to attend our meetings and events!
